Delete your BuyForBaby account

In the app

1. Open the BuyForBaby app on your iPhone or Android phone and sign in.
2. Go to Settings, then Delete Account (in the Account section).
3. Confirm with your password, or with the 6-digit code we email you.

Your account is deleted straight away and you are signed out. This can't be undone.

By email

If you don't have the app, email support@buyforbaby.in from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We may ask you to confirm the request. You can also send a deletion request from Your Privacy Rights. Deleting your account on the website itself isn't available yet.

What is deleted

• Your login, profile and preferences (name, email address, shipping address, due date)
• Your registry and every item on it, including the record of gifts bought from it and your thank-you notes
• Your children's details
• Events you host, with their guest lists, invitations, RSVPs, messages and photos
• Your saved contacts, invitation designs, checklist progress, quiz answers and party games you host
• Your notifications, push-notification devices and consent settings

If you co-host someone else's event, you are removed as a co-host. Messages you sent to guests as a host are deleted.

What is kept, and for how long

A record that the deletion happened

Your former account ID, when you signed up and deleted, your country, how many registry items you had, the reason you gave (if any), and the IP address and device details of the deletion request.

Things that belong to someone else's registry or event

Gifts you marked as bought on another person's registry, photos you added to another person's event, your answers in their party games, and product links you submitted to our catalogue stay where they are. They are no longer linked to your account.

Purchase, consent and AI request records

Records of template purchases, the history of your privacy-consent changes, email-marketing consent records (the email address, whether you agreed or opted out, and when) and logs of AI registry-suggestion requests are kept without the link to your account.

How long, as set out in section 8 of our Privacy Policy:

• Deleted account data can remain in our backups for up to 30 days.
• Anonymized usage data is kept for up to 3 years for service improvement.
• Some data may be kept longer to comply with legal obligations (for example tax records and fraud prevention), including the records listed above.
